  1. Hi. I am researching ideas for making a carousel cake for my granddaughter’s birthday and came across yours which is lovely. Do you have any instructions available for it? It was iced yellow with pink accents.

    1. Hi Cathy, the instructions are in the Australian Women’s Weekly ‘Bumper Book of Kids Birthday Cakes’. The ‘Merry-Go-Round’ it’s called. It’s available for $28 at Big W – http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/books/cooking/bpnBIGW_0000000334345/aww-the-bumper-book-of-kids-birthday-cakes?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Cooking&utm_campaign=AWW%20The%20Bumper%20Book%20of%20Kids%20Birthday%20Cakes&CAWELAID=1888439822&gclid=CIfW66-p4bkCFQdcpgodMW4Avw

I purchased the wooden horses from Spotlight, and we painted them white for the cake. There’s actually some already done on ebay at the moment! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Painted-Wooden-Craft-horse-decorations-x4-made-for-Womens-Weekly-Carousel-Cake-/221270542082 I made the Swiss Butter Cream Icing (in my Thermomix) and the recipe is here – http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/node/52176 I trust this helps.

My girls have both requested this cake over the years, so the horses get used again usually!
